ALBANY, Ore. (KMTR) - Taking a ride in style and raising money for children's cancer, several hundred people turned out for the fifth annual "Winter Rod and Speed Show" Saturday. The event, held at the Linn County Fair and Expo Center , boasted more than 100 classic cars including show stopper replicas from TV shows and movies. One of the replicas included the Batmobile from the original Batman TV series. Organizers started the show in Oregon to help an ailing local hot-rod racing crew chief after a stroke. "Sadly he passed away, but it helped pay his bills for a months. And that one did so well, we decided to do it the next year," said Rich Bailey, organizer for the show. "You know, anytime you can come out and meet people for a great cause, we've just had a fantastic day," said Scott Haskin, a former OSU Beaver basketball player and NBA star. Haskin took time to meet fans Saturday. Organizers said they hoped to raise at least $3,500 dollars for the Children's Cancer Association through the show.
