Japan 'Arigato' event launched in London
A 15-day event began in London in Saturday to show Japan's gratitude for the support and encouragement it received from around the world following the Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami on March 11 last year. Former professional soccer player Hidetoshi Nakata, one of the organizers of the "Arigato in London" event, said, "We want to express our gratitude [to the world] and show progress in Japan's efforts for restoration."The event, which runs through Aug. 11, features photos of the disaster-hit Tohoku region, videos shown in many languages to express the country's gratitude, and Japanese dance and traditional drum performances.
