Need help getting Caleb into his own...: The Leukemia & Lymphoma ...

Don't feel bad.? Lauren is 12 (chronologically, not developmentally) and she sleeps in a cot at the foot of our bed.? She won't even go to sleep unless we are both back there.? If I'm not in bed yet she will hang out where I am and fall asleep on the couch.? Prior to all this she went to bed by herself whenever she got tired.? But with all the trauma, pain, just plain feeling bad and being home so much made her very clingy to both of us.? And, her room is on a different floor than ours, so I was having a hard time relaxing when she was up there (even though I bought a video nursery monitor.? Bought one for my pregnant step-daughter and one for myself.? Who would have thought?).? But she had reached a point where she was scared to be by herself and she was crawling into bed with us in the middle of the night or else coming in and sleeping on our floor.? Or else I was on high alert all night and not sleeping well at all.

?

Our plan is to repaint her room in the next couple of weeks, get a new bedspread and and make a big deal out her new room and being in LTM and feeling better.?? I'm sure I will end up spending a few nights on the couch in the loft outside her room to play sleep police.? With everything they've been through I understand their anxiety; and ours.? Quite honestly every time she had a PEG shot and they wouldn't administer it unless I showed the nurse Lauren's epi pen and they reminded me to keep the epi pen nearby for two weeks it made me want her sleeping in the same room as us!

?

I think it will cost all of us a couple nights sleep to get them back in their bed.
